I have a very heavy heart today.

Those of you that read this blog that know me personally

know just how near and dear to my heart

both

abortion and breast-cancer

related issues are.

I spent a lot of yesterday and this morning

on an emotional teeter-totter

about   

Susan G. Komen for a Cure

pulling funding from Planned Parenthood.

...and then reversing their decision.

I'm thankful that there are so many

strong women out there ready to vocalize their

opinions on the matter one way or the other

and I must admit that although

I'm more than opposed to

PP using Komen funds for voluntary abortions

that Komen contributors might not have allocated

 had they known-

I can't deny that PP has been there to provide

medical services and answers to tough questions for me

in times of dire need.

Planned Parenthood is not an evil entity.

No matter where you stand on abortion

if you're a woman and vocalizing your opinion

{to me}

you are a feminist.

I just so happen to be this type.

I'm stealing this from somebody else's facebook wall

but these sentences brought me the most

amount of strength and comfort today.

"The prettiest eyes have cried the most tears.... the biggest smiles hide the deepest secrets.... the kindest hearts have endured the most pain.... and the strongest people have been broken over and over.... don't you ever give up...."

I don't plan on it anytime soon.
