On the Sunday after the Pink Ribbon Run
our family took a little trip to
for some apple + pumpkin picking
and other fun stuff.
We also took a special guest with us.
Well...they have been apart since that graduation day
and have both been missing each other something terrible.
So we invited Little A along for the day and it was a GREAT decision.
James was over the moon to see her again!
{An Isabel Original}
This was the 6th year in a row that my kids have been to this orchard.
The orchard has apparently been very successful because over the years
they have built on and added so much to the place.
Now it's absolutely amazing!
Each time I go there I think about
how.much.fun
it would be to run an orchard or farm open to the public.
Future farmers?
If not us...maybe them? :)
I was impressed with all of the flowers, landscaping and little details this place had to offer.
We started off our festivities with a little corn pit action.
Haha. I'm so "corny."
Then Ryan entertained us with a lesson in crawling.
Dork.
Next on the agenda was a little bit of face painting.
While they enjoyed their faces getting magically transformed into
puppies, sparkly princesses + a swan...
we rested for a bit.
Proving yet again why I should never do any "what I wore" posts.
Somebody even ended up doing a little of this:
Must've been all that crawling.
After his nap, Ryan requested that I stand amidst the tall grass to get a prairie shot.
Hahahahahahah. O man. I'm such a creep.
Next up the two little lovebirds shared their first kiss.
The only "base" James is allowed to get to until he turns 30.
This place has the CUTEST billy goats ever!
I mean.
Seriously.
So.cute.
Next we took in a magic show!
I didn't get a very clear shot of him, but this scientist was quite charismatic and entertaining!
I'm pretty sure we had lunch next, but the only photo evidence I have is this:
Apple Cider slushie + homemade applesauce. I also housed a delicious burger too.
After we were done stuffing our faces we decided to get a little competitive in the sack.
Yes. An actual sack. What'd you think I meant, you little gutterbrains?!
At least I can lose with a smile!
The kids got competitive too!
They had so much to do at Center Grove
that it was hard to get it all done!
The kids jumped on a bouncy pillow, slung some apples, slid down a HUGE slide
walked through a gigantic corn maze, explored an abandoned bus
and played with little critters.
The only thing left to do was to pick out our pumpkins!
{well...and apples. But I just bought those in a bag at their store}
We walked through the patch searching for just the right one.
I promise we got some that were bigger than this wee little baby pumpkin.
I guess I didn't take a picture of them but I'll be sure to share some
once we've decorated them!
James and Little A
had a such great time together
and all day seeing them with each other was a great reminder
of just how awesome little people are
and just how special a good friend can be!

Have you done "fall" type of activities yet this year?
